"Death Valley Holiday" is a tape-loop improvisation I made in April 2020, after the first month of the COVID-19 lockdown. While trying to keep busy, I found some digitized footage in my computer of a Super8mm holiday film I bought at the swap meet. Watching it triggered a feeling of nostalgia, but I also that my own sense of unease and dread at that time, was probably no different that what people felt during the Cold War. Inspired by this, I created some tape loops to capture that sense.

A great entry point for the gritty sound of PYC. I imagine it to be the sound of the dark grimy alleys and back streets of "Bladerunner" - also check out his stellar Ghost Box releases. C90 Recordings
